Contemplation of the condition of memories as experiences transformed by language leads to anticipation and anxiety in planning a car trip. The obsessive fears and negativities of the character are opposed by the seductiveness of the landscape images. Material filmed in 1968 is combined with matched images shot in 1986, animation and performance.
